Accreditation is the weakest field in this sector
Only two laboratories in this directory make a specific, checkable accreditation claim. Several make none at all — including the one whose certificates are most widely circulated in the research peptide market.
Four different things are routinely presented as though they were the same credential, and they are not:
- ISO/IEC 17025 — testing-competence accreditation, granted for a named scope of methods and verifiable on a public register.
- ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 — quality-management certification. Not a statement about testing competence.
- cGMP or GLP inspected — regulatory inspection status, not accreditation.
- DEA registration — a controlled-substance licence. It says nothing about analytical quality.
Therapept records each claim verbatim and marks it self-reported until it is confirmed on an accreditation body’s register. No laboratory here has yet been confirmed against a register, so none is marked as documented.
Commissioning your own analysis
Independent testing is the only mechanism that checks a supplier’s documentation rather than trusting it. Which analysis to order depends entirely on which question you need answered — purity, identity and net peptide content are three different results.
