What Therapept is

Therapept is an independent reference platform for the peptide sector. It publishes chemical identity and regulatory status for research compounds, directories of testing laboratories and suppliers, guides to analytical documentation, and analysis of the sector's operating environment.

It does not sell peptides. It does not provide medical, legal or financial advice.

Sourcing

Sources are ranked, and a lower-ranked source never overrides a higher one. Primary regulatory and scientific records come first: FDA, FTC, NIH and PubChem, peer-reviewed literature, published standards, and accreditation bodies' own registers.

An organisation's own published statements are treated as evidence of what that organisation claims, not as evidence that the claim is true. They are labelled self-reported wherever they appear.

Aggregator sites, forums, vendor comparison pages and search-engine snippets are not used as sources of fact. Search results are used to locate pages; the live page is what gets recorded.

Review

Every record carries the date it was last reviewed and the sources it rests on. Articles carry a published date, an updated date and a named reviewer.

Records are re-checked when a source changes, when a correction is submitted, or on a periodic pass. A record that has not been re-checked keeps its original review date rather than showing a refreshed one.

Editorial boundaries

Therapept does not publish the following, and will not publish them in response to commercial pressure:

• Dosing, reconstitution, administration or preparation instructions.
• Protocols, cycles, stacks or regimens.
• Therapeutic, performance, cosmetic or weight-management claims for any compound.
• Personalised medical advice of any kind.
• Testimonials, before-and-after material, or user outcome reports.
• Ratings or composite scores for companies. The underlying fields are published instead so a reader can weight them.
• Purity, accreditation or testing figures on a company's behalf.
• Invented entries. Directories contain only records that can be sourced, and are never padded to look larger.

Unknown values

A field that no source establishes is marked unknown, or “not publicly stated”. It is never inferred from marketing language, never estimated, and never treated by a filter as a positive answer.

This is the reason some records look sparse. A sparse record that is accurate is more useful than a complete one that is partly guessed.

Commercial relationships

Therapept's owner has interests in other businesses in this sector. Where Therapept links to one of them, the relationship is disclosed on the same screen as the link, above it rather than in a footnote, and the link is marked so that it passes no ranking signal.

Paid placements are labelled as paid. Editorial listings are labelled as editorial. Neither is presented as the other.

Corrections

Corrections are welcome from anyone, including from the companies being described. A correction supported by a source is applied and the review date updated. A disagreement not supported by a source is recorded on the page rather than suppressed.
