Methodology

The three rules

1. Every factual claim carries its source. If a value cannot be traced to a record a reader can open, it does not go on the page.
2. Unknown is a real answer.A field nobody has published is marked unknown or “not stated”. It is never inferred, estimated, or filled in from marketing language, and a filter never treats it as a yes.
3. Commercial interest is disclosed at the point of the link, above it rather than in a footnote, before a reader decides whether to click.

What counts as a source

Sources are ranked, and a lower-ranked source never overrides a higher one.

• Primary regulatory and scientific records.FDA (Drugs@FDA, published guidance, compounding tables, warning letters), FTC, NIH and PubChem, peer-reviewed literature, published standards, and accreditation bodies’ own registers.
• An organisation’s own published statements. Good evidence of what a company claims. Not evidence that the claim is true.
• Nothing else. Aggregator sites, forum posts, vendor comparisons and search-engine snippets are not used as sources of fact. Search results are used to find pages; the live page is what gets recorded.

That last point matters more than it sounds. Several widely-indexed peptide service pages at large laboratories are now dead or redirected while search engines still show the old content. Where that happened, the live page was treated as authoritative and the discrepancy was recorded on the record.

How claims are labelled

Documented

Established by a primary or authoritative source — PubChem, Drugs@FDA, an FDA publication, a published standard, or an accreditation body's register. The source is cited on the record.

Self-reported

The organisation states it about itself and Therapept has not independently confirmed it. Recorded verbatim where the wording matters, and never upgraded to fact by repetition.

Therapept analysis

An editorial judgement rather than a sourced fact. Labelled as such so it can be argued with.

Not yet reviewed

Therapept has not examined this field. It is not a negative finding.

What Therapept does not publish

• Ratings and scores. A composite score is an opinion wearing a number. The underlying fields are published instead, so a reader can weight them.
• Purity or accreditation figures on a company’s behalf. Those belong on the company’s own documentation, where they can be checked against a lot.
• Dosing, preparation, administration, protocols, or any description of effects. This is a reference platform, not a clinical one.
• Invented entries. The directories are small because they only contain records that can be sourced. They are not padded to look larger.

Listing tiers

A tier describes the commercial standing of a record, not its quality. A paid listing is never presented as an editorial one.

Listed

A record built from public information. No commercial relationship, no payment.

Documentation reviewed

A record where the key documentation claims have been checked against a primary source. Not an endorsement.

Partner

A commercial relationship exists. Not an independent recommendation.

Featured partner

A paid placement. Not an independent recommendation.

Sponsored

Paid content or placement, disclosed on the surface where it appears.

Affiliated property

A business that shares ownership with Therapept. Never presented as an independent recommendation.

Disclosure

Therapept’s owner has interests in other businesses in this sector. Where Therapept links to one of them, the link carries the disclosure below on the same screen, and the link itself is marked so that it passes no ranking signal.

Review and correction

Every record carries the date it was last reviewed. Records are re-checked when a source changes, when a correction is submitted, or on a periodic pass — whichever comes first. A record that has not been re-checked shows its original review date rather than a refreshed one.

Corrections are welcome from anyone, including from the companies being described. A correction that is supported by a source is applied and the review date is updated. A disagreement that is not supported by a source is recorded on the page rather than suppressed. How to submit a correction.
